The Kit

Whilst the GTR can be ordered as a turnkey supercar, it is also available in component form, for assembly by the home enthusiast which is how the majority of our customers prefer to purchase their GTR. As part of the GTR's gestation period, a great deal of time was spent to ensure that this is one of the easiest cars in the world to construct by somebody with no previous mechanical or car building experience.

The acclaimed GTR is the latest model from Ultima and it embodies all that the company has achieved with its previous models, while incorporating a whole raft of exciting new features. Nothing on the GTR has been taken for granted and every area has been meticulously researched before dedicated components are either fabricated by the factory or sourced from specialist suppliers.

Unlike many high performance cars, Ultima doesn't believe in the parts-bin mentality that sees components scavenged from other models. From designing and manufacturing its own wheels to having suspension specialist, Intrax, manufacture dampers specifically for the GTR, Ultima has striven to ensure there are no shortcuts when it comes to the quality of the end product.

The Muscle

The factory has designed the Ultima to accept the small block Chevrolet V8 from 300bhp to over 700bhp.  The Ultima has been designed to accept the Porsche G50 5/6 speed or the Getrag 6 speed in standard form. Apart from changing the breather location no other modifications are recommended.

The Doors

The doors are stylishly designed to open at 45 degrees and are aided and supported by a gas strut. An important benefit of the Ultima gas assist door opening system is that they can be opened in tight parking spaces allowing driver and passenger access unlike cars with ordinary doors.
Perhaps the most important reason for the 3/4 opening doors is that it allows for a huge 12" crumple zone to the side of the driver and passenger offering superior protection over front hung doors.

Paint

The body incorporates a solid-colour gel coat finish, which does not require painting.
The advantages to gel coat is that it is thicker than any paint finish and is resistant to stone chips.
It also saves build time and money.

Wheels

These specially designed wheels are actually assembled in-house to ensure a level of quality that is endemic of all the parts that go to make up a completed Ultima
Centres are CNC machined out of a solid billet of 2014 alloy and incorporate an O-ring air-seal system
Centres are bolted to anodised rims supplied by OZ Racing with high grade stainless steel bolts
Brakes

World renowned braking specialist, AP Racing, has designed the braking system for the Ultima GTR
Huge 320mm x 30mm curved vaned discs are cross-drilled
4-pot alloy calipers incorporate a smaller leading piston diameter than the rear to reduce taper pad wear
Caliper piston sizes have been carefully balanced against the brake pedal mechanical advantage, weight of the car, diameter of the discs and rolling radius of the tyres
Separate pressure and dust seals make this set-up ideal for both road and track-day use

Rear Wing

GTR wing is of double element design, made from carbon fibre
Fully wind tunnel tested at MIRA
Wing supports are CNC machined from solid 20mm billet alloy plate

Interior

The seats

Specially designed seats provide total lateral support and have integral seat runners
Cover options are black leather or Alcantara

Luggage space
There are purpose made alloy sealed luggage containers either side of the cockpit accessible from inside the car, space behind the seats and in the doors. Storage is also available behind the access panel under the front section.
Trips abroad are no problem and neither is the weekly supermarket expedition.
