About IVehE |
Institue of Vehicle Engineers (Formerly IBCAM) founded 1881.
The roots of the Institute of Vehicle Engineers go back to the early 1880's when prominent coachbuilders of the day sought to safeguard and maintain standards of design, materials and production. The Institute of Vehicle Engineers was founded in 1881 as the Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers (IBCAM) merging with the Institute of Body Engineers in 1965, then becoming the Institute of Vehicle Engineers (IVehE) in January 2000, and merging with SAE-UK in 2004. SAE-UK incorporating IVehE is the only professional institute dedicated solely to the vehicle design and related components and systems supply industries. |
